Moving on up...

There was a girl from the country who thought she would try something different. She hated to leave her family, but she knew it was time to go. Life waits for no one, so why not lead the way? Her story... she got the job on a Friday, packed her bags and left on Sunday, off to Vegas for a week of training, home on Saturday for a night of rest, Sunday packing, Monday the move is moved to Wednesday, Tuesday was IHOP for dinner and food poisioning to follow, Wednesday the move was moved to Friday, Thursday the move was moved to Thursday, after a small panic attack it was moved back to Friday. At 9 the movers arrived and out went my stuff then out went me. They followed me to my storage unit to get the rest of my stuff. 4.5 hours later we had a full truck that wasn't going to deliver until the next day. So a few coffees, a hunk of meatloaf sandwhich (thanks dad), a little Victoria Secret humor (thanks bratty), and a few more hugs later I was on my way to the windy city. I had directions in hand which after talking with dad I decided not to follow b/c lets face it when it comes to trust man vs. machine - there is no contest. So 4.5 hours later there I was in town, .5 hours (9pm)after that I was parked and checked into my guest suite for the night onlhy to sign my lease and get my keys Saturday.

Saturday the movers were supposed to come at 2 and after hours of phone calls and confusion at 7:30 they showed up and were here til almost midnight. It was completely nuts and I think all my neighbors on this floor were made b/c they were loud. One of them asked me out. I thought about it but he is missing some teeth so I told him he could buy me a beer. Fun stuff. They broke the wheels off my storage cart, they broke a leg off my jewelry box, and that is all I have found so far. They are supposed to be bringing my jewelry box back today or tomorrow but I haven't heard from them. It would be a shame if I never saw it again.

Sunday was short lived and not enough unpacking was done. I had to pack for my trip to WI. I spent Monday and Tuesday in the WI office with my boss, getting set up and downloading software for my new IBM think pad. I got back around 9 Tuesday night and uppacked a bit more. Wednesday the cable guy came and setup my TV, internet, and asked what was with all the boxes. He also said that cubs players live in this building so I guess that will be fun this summer. I spent the afternoon, after getting lost downtown, at the downtown office with my new coach. It was another lovely day.

My goal is to figure out public transportation tomorrow and to quit getting lost.
